About this Exhibition
The exhibition, curated by Nada Shabout, revisits the Baghdad Modern Art Group, founded in 1951 by Jewad Selim and Shakir Hassan Al Said, and explores its influence on several generations of Iraqi artists. The selection notably brings together works by Dia al-Azzawi, Naziha Salim, Hanaa Malallah, Mahmoud Obaidi, Rand Abdul Jabbar, alongside many other artists and key figures of Iraqi modernism.
